If you thought the recent shake-up/rebranding of DC Comics into DC Entertainment might mean that a Superman movie was being developed… don’t. MTV News spoke with Diane Nelson, the new head of DC Entertainment, and she said that the Man of Steel is not the man of the hour.
“We’ve obviously done a lot of great things behind the property in our
history, and it’s a key part of the family, but we don’t have current
plans behind Superman,” she said.
That’s pretty definitive sounding. And this is despite lots of speculation that recent court rulings would force Warner Bros into making a new Superman, and despite really, really stupid and unfounded rumors that James McTeigue would be directing the movie.
So it’s wait and see for Supes. In the meantime, kudos to MTV News for not asking Nelson which star of Twilight would make the best Superman.
