Scrubs is a show that has been spared the warm embrace of the small screen grave for far too long. When ABC granted it a reprieve and got it to a place where they could wrap the show up. They decided to push it a little longer and with select cast members coming back for a Season 9. Pick up this season to see Kate Micucci guest-starring and Neil Flynn attempt to save the last shreds of humor from jokes that went stale awhile ago.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold Volume 1
reminds me of why I feel a distance from the modern comic fandom. DC Animated and Warner Brothers takes a chance on a Silver Age throwback Batman when all instincts should tell them to pimp out a Nolan style adventure. Plus, they’re digging up such random interpretations of classic characters and the various B,C,D and Z-List creations in the DCU. This should be catnip for the people that could name all the different Blue Beetles in reverse order. Yet, it gets treated like a kiddie show that people should pass up. Honestly, that’s not the case and I believe that WB could’ve done a better job than to release a quickie DVD with four episodes on there.

Embracing a slightly warmer approach to classic DC is a welcome change. I just wish that the powers that be could make the dark and gritty folk realize there’s a place for Bat-Mite and his ilk. Oh well, they can just go back to playing Arkham Asylum.
