Oh Paul Bettany. Hopefully your career isn’t being defined by religious-themed Screen Gems films. You have Legion coming, in which you play an ass-kicking angel, and then there’s Priest, in which you play an ass-kicking man of the cloth.
Priest is based on a manga, and it’s set in a post-apocalyptic world where humans and vampires have fought for a century. Bettany is a warrior priest who is hunting a pack of bloodsuckers who stole his niece. I guess they’re waiting for a special occasion to drink her.
The site for Priest has gone live, and it presents us with our first look at Bettany in the film, sporting a crucifix painted on his face, like he’s attending a tailgating party for Jesus.
