The Alice In Wonderland trailer has been available online for a couple days now, but I resisted writing about it till today for two reasons. Reason number one is that when it first popped up, it was a leak (of course, the typical practice of film sites snatching it up, hosting it themselves, and double branding it with their own logo ensued). Second, what fucking use is a teaser trailer for Alice In Wonderland that isn’t available in HD? Honestly.
Head on over to Moviefone though, and you can get your first glimpse of Burton’s Wonderland in motion. We’ve had plenty of good glimpses of the film up until now, but seeing things in motion makes it clear that Burton’s Wonderland will lean heavily towards the cartoony. I’m pleased with the trailer though- I think there is a brightness and cheer to it that isn’t as steeped in the macabre as one would expect.
This footage premiered at Comic Con today in 3D, to very positive buzz. I understand that Patton Oswalt moderated, and Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance, although information was apparently minimal since there is still so much left to complete.
If you haven’t already, take a look at the (mostly) lovely character posters that popped up earlier this week.
