You can tell a lot about a person from the miscellaneous collection of DVD’s stacked next to their television set. Every film we own says a little bit about us, whether we’d like it to… or not. So I’ve decided to turn this uncompromising insight on myself by analyzing my entire DVD collection… one impulse buy at a time.

DAY 8: AIRHEADS

WHAT IT’S ABOUT:

Really? Do I have to… okay… fine… three idiot rockers take a radio station hostage in order to play their demo. (Happy? I’m admitting to actually knowing what this movie is about. I’m gonna go bang my head in the dishwasher now in an effort to rinse the plot from my brain.)

WHY I BOUGHT IT:
Um… I didn’t. My brother got it for me as a Christmas present. Why he felt I would enjoy this movie makes me question not only if he’s ever met me before but whether or not he is actually the same person I lived with for 16 years and not an alien impersonator. It’s like me buying him Stanley Kubrick’s 2001 (and no pot).

WHAT IT SAYS ABOUT ME:
That I only hold on to it in the REMOTE chance a girl wants something to watch that’s not serious or depressing. (But considering my roommate owns both the AMERICAN PIE TRILOGY and BOAT TRIP and the scarcity in which girls actually enter my room, I guess I can chuck it. Done.)

Until next time… Hit me back.
