If I said that the new movie by Marina de Van, who made the creepy/uncomfortable In My Skin a few years back, was playing at Cannes and had a teaser, would you be excited? Probably not. If I said it featured Sophie Marceau turning into Monica Bellucci, would you be? Maybe. Getting warmer, at least.
How about this. Monica Belluci! Done.
Ne te retourne pas features Sophie Marceau as a writer who begins to realize that reality may be different from her perception of it…or that’s what this teaser and the synopsis suggests. I’m not sure why the realization that you were actually Monica Bellucci would be bad, exactly, but I’m sure the film will make that clear.
The folks at Twitch have the teaser, and the following synopsis:
Jeanne a writer, married, with two children – starts to see unsettling changes in her home. Her body is beginning to change. No one around her seems to notice. Her family dismisses these fears as the result of the stress of having to finish her next book, but Jeanne realizes that something far deeper, far more disturbing is taking place. A photograph at her mother’s house sends her in search of a woman in Italy. Here, transformed into another woman, RosaMaria, she will discover the strange secret of her true identity.
