Huh. First there was Bond babe Gemma Arterton joining the cast of Louis Leterrier’s Clash of the Titans re-do, and now a recent Bond bad guy will be along for the ride, too. It’s one of the lamer Bond villains, really, but an actor I love: Mads Mikkelsen.
Mads will join Sam Worthington’s Perseus on a quest to save the princess Andromeda and defeat Hades. He’s Draco, leader of the Praetorian Guard that accompanies the hero. Which is shorthand for: he won’t make it through the movie alive. (And aren’t Praetorian Guards an, er, Roman thing? Maybe THR has their details slightly mixed up. Let us know if that’s the case. Also tell us if there’s actually a Kraken in the movie.)
Incidentally, we now know who’s playing Andromeda, too: Alexa Davalos, from Defiance, The Mist and Chronicles of Riddick. I’m glad Leterrier went with someone more fresh-faced and natural than the glam model type that would have been so easy to cast.
