Harold Ramis has started doing press for The Year One, but that just means that he’s doing really early press for the new Ghostbusters movie.
For the most part the info he’s giving out now just reinforces what we’ve known. (Or, in some cases, assumed.) There are new Ghostbusters and, Ramis tells MTV, the core team of Venkman, Stantz and Spengler will also be aboard, as he, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd (cry for Ernie Hudson) reprise their roles. “We’re all going to be in it in different kinds of roles. We’re going to be the sage mentors. There are going to be young Ghostbusters.”
There’s also going to be a script…soon. Ramis says he’s waiting on a first draft from The Year One writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky. That being the case, it’s way too early to speculate on who the new crew will be. Not that such a little thing will stop anyone.
If all goes well I’ll be speaking to Dan Aykroyd next week and, like everyone else who’s around while he does press for the Ghostbusters game, I’ll be asking about the new movie.
