Johnny Depp is returning to the role of Hunter S Thompson, even if his name in The Rum Diary is Paul Kemp. The Rum Diary is Thompson’s second novel (which was only published in 1998), and is a semi-autobiographical account of his time as a journalist in Puerto Rico in the late 1950s. The movie version is shooting right now in Miami, and Popsugar.com has the first pic of Depp in character below.
