A little while ago it was revealed that Dead Space was on its way to the Wii, but today it’s official… and better than we hoped. Dead Space Extraction is actually a prequel to the game we all know and love, built from the ground up exclusively for the Wii. While we might be dreading the graphics for this game, it’s already got features that its big brothers only wish they had.
For instance, can you say co-op gameplay? I know you can.
The game is set upon the Aegis VII mining colony where the marker was found, and introduces a new heroine, new weapons, enemies and puzzles. All of that with motion sensitive controls- just think about how easy it will be to dismember Necromorphs with the Wii remote!
“We could not be more excited to extend Dead Space into an experience exclusive to the Wii. Nintendo has a wonderful history in the horror genre and we are thrilled to build on that tradition with Dead Space Extraction,” said Glen Schofield, VP and General Manager of EA Redwood Shores studio. “As we were developing Dead Space, we realized that there was so much of the story going untold. Dead Space Extraction tells that story with all of the intensity, blood and gore that fans would expect.”
Check out the trailer (which unfortunately seems to be about half cutscene, perhaps to hide the graphics of the game) and await its release this fall!
