Marvel has it’s cross-platform character appearances to promote their product from within, and Jerry Bruckheimer is like a student taking notes from their seminar. The official posters for Prince of Persia: Sands of Time will be seen in the upcoming Confessions of a Shopaholic, during a scene set in Times Square.
That will be the first time the poster appears anywhere, unless the internet can do something about it. Also in the scene will be images from G-Force (the cybernetic guinea pig movie, not Battle of the Planets) and possibly some other Bruckheimer productions that are TBD. So sayeth MTV.
Though the PoP poster will be the first time a piece of real-world marketing has debuted in a dramatic feature, the Times Square setting will remind a lot of people of a silly similar placement from 2007, when Akiva Goldsman wrote a fictional Batman vs Superman poster into I Am Legend.
