Rogue Pictures has just released the trailer for their upcoming fisticuffs movie, Fighting, starring Terence Howard (The Brave One), and Channing Tatum (Stop-Loss). It’s the story of a young bare-knuckle brawler (Tatum), and the hustler who tries to make a quick buck off of him (Howard).
Here is a snippet from the official press release:
As
Shawn’s manager, Harvey introduces him to the corrupt bare-knuckle circuit,
where rich men bet on disposable pawns. Almost overnight, he becomes a
star brawler, taking down professional boxers, mixed martial arts champs and
ultimate fighters in a series of staggeringly intense bouts. But if Shawn
ever hopes to escape the dark world in which he’s found himself, he must now
face the toughest fight of his life.
It sounds like it could be more than just a punching movie, as the release also talks about how the story is the struggle for brotherhood, survival and respect both in and out of the streetfighting ring.
Ah, but who knows. The trailer doesn’t look all that impressive, rather derivative, but you can judge for yourself right here, through IGN.
If for some reason you can’t watch it yet, here are a few images from the film to tide you over. Fighting is set for release on April 29th.
