Among the highlights of a recent redesign of Scifi.com’s Scifiwire is an exclusive new clip for the upcoming Caprica. The latest description they have is that the show is “set 50 years before the events in Battlestar Galactica, Caprica follows two rival families–the Graystones and the Adamas–as they grow, compete and thrive in the vibrant world of the 12 Colonies, a society recognizably close to our own.” This is of course no surprise as this show has been in the offing for a couple years or so now, but this description makes it sound like Space Dynasty. However, upon viewing the clip, one can see that Blake Carrington wouldn’t last five minutes in this show.
Since the same guys who gave us Battlestar are back at the helm so to speak, the show could be good. However, my excitement level for the entire Battlestar franchise has been put in cold storage for the last year or so…you know, since the show was last on the air. Anyway, said clip contains Eric Stoltz, who plays Daniel Graystone, checking out a club that looks like Blade II‘s House of Pain added a Fight Club wing with a Sodom and Gomorrah VIP lounge. Caprica also stars Easi Morales as Grampa Joe Adama, Paula Malcolmson as Amanda Graystone, Polly Walker and Allessandra Torreson. It gears up this summer for a 2010 premiere.
