Pineapple Express was one of those films that got built up before its release. Naturally, it’s an Apatow flick so there’s a certain amount of false praise around these parts. That’s not to say that I’m shitting on one’s love of stoner comedies. But, I’ve seen better. Still, it’s nice to see Danny McBride and Craig Robinson get decent material.

Righteous Kill was a bomb. I’ve seen better flicks. Hell, I’ve seen better pornos. But, you’ve got to respect Jon Avnet’s work ethic. After so many bombs over the year, he doesn’t snap. He won’t quit and he won’t turn Bollian. What he does offer is the same mediocre storytelling year after year. God bless him.

Bangkok Dangerous is
the kind of film that kills my love for Asian Cinema. Sure, I don’t mean to offset the work of the Pang Brothers with the greater achievements of Ozu. But, honestly…Godzilla could crush the Westernized Asian Cinema to bits. I would be happy. Stick with this film to watch Cage’s bizarre hair shift more times than airline luggage.
