Disney has struck a chord simply with the announcement of a new Tron movie. The Comic Con presentation has filtered out to folks that aren’t even particularly web-savvy. When I meet new people who learn what I do for a living, one of the top three films they’ve asked about since this summer is TR2N, and because the Hall H presentation has filtered out everywhere they tend to think it’s actually done and ready to go.
Development is inching along now, with the announcement of two new cast members. THR (which is calling the film Tron 2.0) has announced House‘s Olivia Wilde as “a worker in the virtual world
who tries to help fight Master Control Program, the villainous
intelligence protocol that was the nemesis in the original
film” and Beau Garrett as “a siren in the virtual world”.
Good news, but I won’t be truly happy until we get David Warner on board in some manner.
