MAMMA MIA!

It’s the biggest release of the week, so it gets the top spot. Most of you aren’t going to pick up this title for yourself, but I’d recommend a rental. The film’s a fun romp through a modern stage classic that only turns to shit once Pierce Brosnan opens his pie hole. The ladies and their effeminate man pals will get to sing-along with both the DVD and BLU-RAY. Throw on some decent special features and you’ve got something to keep them busy during the Holidays. Meanwhile, you can go back to drinking.

THE MUMMY: TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR

The Mummy turned to shit roughly one second after The Scorpion King debuted. Naturally, Rob Twinkletoes Cohen steps up to the plate and drops a Cleveland Steamer. To call it a bad film is way too easy. It’s an exercise in wasted talent, budget and ability. The latter half of this decade is turning in a caliber of cinematic bomb that mixes Vienna Sausage taste with Liberace’s decadence. Avoid it.


MR. BEAN: THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION

Mr. Bean is a gem. Apparently, Rowan Atkinson is eight shades of depressing and doesn’t really care for a lot of the work. But, it’s fun and the Ultimate Collection packages together the Bean adventures in one short stop. You get everything from the original British series to the latest travesty that Universal crapped out. It should make for an excellent stocking stuffer.
