I am so jealous of Drew McWeeny right now. He got to go to Elsetree Studios, the last of the legendary British lots that I need to visit. And he got to do it for a movie that’s completely cool – Kick-Ass, Matthew Vaughn’s adaptation of Mark Millar’s hyperviolent comic book.
Drew has begun running his set visit report and it’s chock full of great details and info. He also ran a new picture from Kick-Ass, and while you might think I just shrunk the whole photo down, this is actually a detail from the corner of the image. Click here to see the whole picture. It’s Christopher Mintz-Plasse, aka McLovin, aka The Red Mist in Kick-Ass.
I have to admit that I didn’t stick with the comic book – I walked in expecting realism and got something else entirely – but I’m actually very interested in the film. Vaughn looks to be creating something exceptionally offbeat here.
