I was actually pretty impressed with Midnight Meat Train (the movie)(for the record). It was much better than I had been led to believe by it’s title, which is frankly begging for the kind of subtle, high-brow humour seen here. It’s too bad there aren’t more half-way decent movies made out of Mr. Barker’s literary works. I know it’s too much to hope for another watchable Hellraiser, but the man has a pretty enormous body of work; surely someone can do some of his stories justice? Of course, perhaps I just took Lord of Illusions (not Master of Illusions as I originally wrote! Sorry Clive!) too hard. If only Sam could have quantum leapt out of the lead character and into the directors chair to fix it before it came out. Ah well, we’ll always have Rawhead Rex…
