Anybody else getting itchy for a new Harry Potter? I haven’t picked up Tales of Beedle the Bard yet, but I don’t imagine that will quite hit the spot the way the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will. Or would have – the movie should be in theaters right now, except that Warner Bros moved it back to the summer.
As we wait for this delayed bit of gratification, WB has started the publicity machine with a series of behind-the-scenes featurettes on the ABC Family Channel. As more than one hour has passed since they aired on television, the clips are now available on YouTube.
There was some controversy recently when a test screening review criticized the film for being very heavy on relationships and light on action; maybe I need to actually reread the book, but a Wikipedia glance indicates that while quite lengthy, Half-Blood Prince isn’t really stuffed with incident. It’s all romance, terrorism and Voldemort backstory. And honestly, I’m okay with a lighter entry (as promised by these videos) before the one-two epic punch of the two part Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
