Well, that’s something, ain’t it?
All right, so here’s the thing. It’s a big, big effects film. So were the first two. I guess I should have expected the amount of neon CGI goofery we get in this trailer. The real trouble is that the laughs just aren’t there. That might mean they’re saving the real laughs for the movie, which is nice, but damn.
And I’m gettin’ real tired of serious somber minimalist piano in trailers. And that awful stutter effect can take a hike.
Look, I trust the cast, and I trust Paul Feig to deliver funny movies. And an iffy trailer is just that: an iffy trailer, not an iffy movie.
But those who’ve been outspoken with their unhappiness for this film’s mere existence are just gonna use the trailer as fuel for nerd rage anyway, so rage on. Ghostbusters will probably be okay when it comes out on July 15.
