Here it is, folks. Right from the man himself. We knew he was in the running (along with the likes of Louis Leterrier, Will Eubank, and Adam Wingard), but now the news is out. F. Gary Gray (2003’s The Italian Job) will direct the eighth entry in the Fast and/or Furious franchise. With James Wan away in England making The Conjuring 2 and Justin Lin making Star Trek Beyond, I think Gray’s an excellent choice to sit in the director’s chair and keep this big franchise going.

FF8 will race into US cinemas April 14, 2017.
