I haven’t played a Warcraft game since Warcraft III, but with Duncan Jones directing, I’m pretty sold on theĀ idea of the movie.
Earlier today, Wired released some exclusive stills from the film, featuring one of the CGI orc characters, Orgrim. Click to enlarge, because these stills are enormous!
This feat of computer wizardry (check out the fine hair on his cheeks and nose) was achieved by ILM, who blended Blizzard’s Orgrim design with 3D scans of actor Robert Kazinsky (that dickhead Aussie pilot from Pacific Rim), who provided a mo-cap performance for the character.
Warcraft won’t hit theaters until June 2016, but HOT DAMN this is a fun design, and it looks leaps and bounds better than the CGI orcs from The Hobbit trilogy.
