Latino Review has broken the Marvel scoop everyone has been waiting for: your new Spider-Man will almost certainly be played by Asa Butterfield.
Having somehow missed out on both Hugo and Ender’s Game, I can’t really offer my opinion about this casting, other than the fact that the kid’s name makes me think of a field of ass-butter. Looks like I might need to check out some of his films because that’s not the most flattering opinion.
The webhead’s solo movie is due in 2017 and we still don’t have a writer or director announced. The shortlist that came out a while ago didn’t feature Drew Goddard’s name, and that has me more than a little worried. Goddard seemed like the perfect fit, especially after leaving Marvel’s Daredevil show.
Spider-Man will be popping up in Captain America: Civil War a.k.a. Basically Avengers 3: Age of the Bloated Character Roster next year and we can all start making judgments then. …Ah, who am I kidding? Get to judging in the comments!
