“We should use these powers to help people.”
Now there’s an idea!
Aside from some downright moronic superhero boilerplate dialogue (which, bear in mind, is not a great indicator of the film’s actual dialogue), this trailer finally markets the movie like it has a sense of humor. That’s still not great, but it’s a step in the right direction. There’s healthy amount of The Thing here, and I like how he looks in motion. I also like that little flash of stretchy acrobatics we see from Richards. Doom, though not seen for very long, kinda looks like I thought he would. He’s definitely received a “grounded” costume treatment that characters tend to get in these kinds of comic book movies — as grounded as any supervillain with a hooded cape and mask could be, I guess.
If you’ve lost all hope for this movie, I’m sure you won’t hesitate to tell me in the comments, but I’d like to hear if anyone else found a couple of cool moments.
Fantastic Four is in theaters August 7.
Thanks to Nooj on the boards for letting me know about this!
