It’s official- Dead Space has been banned from release in Japan, Germany, and China. No copies of the new survival horror game will be allowed to be sold. It’s a damn shame, but it only adds to the mystique of the game, really. Perhaps they should repackage it with special “BANNED!” artwork for over here.
In a talk I recently had with creator Glen Schofield he mentioned how he didn’t think that the game would be banned outright, since Isaac Clarke is not a murderer. (He’s just defending himself against these creatures!) But the game is undeniably brutal, absolutely gory and violent as all hell. I can’t tell you how many ways Isaac can die…
It’s a mature game for horror buffs, and it does it oh so well.
The other big news for the game is that it’s been pushed up for release a week once again! That means that the game is now being released on October 14th! The sooner the better, I say.
Also, if you haven’t been keeping an eye on No Known Survivors, make sure and do so. It’s got a ton of insight into the game’s world, and there’s even prizes to be won…
