This is still breaking, but we’re hearing that Sony will now be allowing theaters to screen The Interview, starting Christmas Day. Now one of the most infamous films in a generation, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s satire is currently confirmed to be playing in several theaters, including the Alamo Drafthouse chainĀ and The Plaza in Atlanta, GA.
TheWrap is also reporting that Sony is finalizing a VOD release, which may be announced shortly.

UPDATE #1: Deadline reports that as of 4PM PST, over 200 American theaters have secured the film. Sony’s offices have reportedly been inundated by calls from theaters wanting to exhibit the film.
UPDATE #2: Deadline has compiled a list of theaters that will begin showing the film on Christmas Day.
