After Rob Zombie filmed his segment, Werewolf Women of the S.S., for Grindhouse, he’s been hinting here and there that he wasn’t exactly done with the property. Initially, Rob hinted at a possible feature, stating he’d shot more than enough footage for his faux-trailer and that it wouldn’t require a whole lot of production time to fill in the rest of the gaps. As time went on, however, that seemed to fall by the wayside, as we all now know Zombie’s next celluloid offering will be Tyrannosaurus Rex instead.
Don’t think that’s the end of Werewolf Women of the S.S., though. Since juggling two feature films at one time would obviously be too much to handle for anyone, we’re going to receive the next best thing – a Werewolf Women of the S.S. comic book. That’s right, Commandant Hess, Lt. Boorman, Dr. Heinrich von Strasser, Eva and Gretchen Krupp, Fu Manchu and even Hitler will be coming your way again.
Below, in typical Zombie fashion, you can see the first bit of art Zombie’s unveiled, and, as usual, artist David Hartman has done another masterful job of putting his own spin on Rob’s ideas.
No word on who’s publishing it or when it will hit stores, but as with everything Rob Zombie these days I’m sure he’ll only release a little bit of info now and then to keep us salivating for more.
