One of the most overlooked and underseen films in the Full Moon Features catalog just got a brand spanking new release on Blu-ray this week. Doctor Mordrid sees Jeffrey Combs as an all-powerful sorcerer fighting the forces of evil for the benefit of all mankind. It’s kind of amazing.
Allegedly the film was made when Charles Band missed the opportunity to make a Doctor Strange film when he had the rights. What eventually got made was a great, albeit silly at times, popcorn muncher of a second-rate super hero film. Regardless of what your take on the movie as a whole is, you gotta love the fact that the final battle centers between Herbert West vs. Night Slasher from Cobra! Check out the synopsis and trailer below.
Doctor Mordrid has been remastered in high-definition and looks better than ever! The Blu-ray is loaded with special features:
-Brand new audio commentary with star Jeffrey Combs and producer/director Charles Band
-Original VideoZone making-of featurette
-Rare William Shatner interview with Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton
-Uncut behind-the-scenes footage from the Full Moon Vault
