A couple of weeks ago, Hideo Kojima tweeted a photo of a projected image of a logo saying ‘METAL GEAR COLLECTION 2014’. The Internet went and did what the Internet, exploding into wild speculation about massive box sets of every Metal Gear game in existence, possibly even on the new consoles or PC.
Well, at the end of the Phantom Pain stage demonstration at TGS today, Konami revealed the collection as… a line of clothing and accessories for men and women, bringing out a series of models to show off the Metal Gear-inspired duds:
God, I fucking love Kojima. Creatively audacious, batshit crazy and likes nothing better than the sound of his audience’s brains melting.
Oh yeah, and they also confirmed that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is definitely coming next year, but no word yet on a release date. It probably wouldn’t have cut through the massive cloud of WTF emanating from the crowd anyway.
