Not long now, everyone. And is it just me or has this Summer suddenly seemed to shrivel up? May had a massive slate of releases, but the rest of the season is looking a little weak (especially with the Jupiter Ascending bump to February). Are the studios—now more dependent on international numbers than ever—getting out of the way of The World Cup? How else do you explain a Fourth of July weekend that features a comedy (Tammy), a found footage family film (Earth To Echo) and an exorcism flick (Deliver Us From Evil)? Where’s Will Smith when you need him?
This though…this is the one I’ve been waiting for. If you feel like you’ve already seen enough, this won’t do much for you. But if you’re counting the days until this hits theaters, this may be a welcome shot of methadone.
