My Bloody Valentine 3-D has claimed another victim; this time the filmmakers are adding Kerr Smith to the cast. Smith will be playing the role of Axle Palmer, jerk -off husband to Sarah (Jaime King) and antagonist to Tom (Jensen Ackles).
After the jerk he played in Final Destination, I don’t think this will be too much of a stretch for Smith.
Smith’s other genre credits include the aforementioned Destination and The Forsaken.
Patrick Lussier (Dracula 2000) is directing this rehash from a screenplay by Todd Farmer and Zane Smith.
The original My Bloody Valentine centered on a whack-a-mole miner that enjoyed slicing and dicing people in record numbers in a nowhere-mining town on, of course, Valentine’s Day. The new version will center on the character of Tom (Ackles) who returns to his hometown on the tenth anniversary of the Valentine’s night massacre. Instead of a homecoming, Tom finds himself the prime suspect in the ever-rising hatchet jobs around town.
My Bloody Valentine 3-D is scheduled to be released January 23, 2009.
Not Valentine’s Day?! WTF?!!
