Fun watching a trailer for a movie about Mark Ruffalo attempting to hide and control the beast within him… except in the case of Thanks For Sharing the Avenger is suffering from a case of 
sex addiction rather than gamma-ray-induced-rage-monster. Oh, and he’s scheming on Tony Stark’s lady…
The whole idea of this movie is dubious as it sanitizes and plays for comedy the idea of sex addiction, which is an ugly thing for people actually dealing with it. Sure, it goes far enough to include a sex-addicted character that’s not profoundly attractive, but of course he’s not actually having any sex, just struggling with being a skeevy pervert. This is a romantic comedy after all, so there won’t be much danger to the world it exploits, just enough for conflict and romantic payoff.
With Ruffalo sharing the stage with Tim Robbins, Gwyneth Paltrow, Josh Gad, and Pink (there’s a joke there), the ensemble is strong, but I don’t see the value in the Friends With Benefits version of Shame. Your thoughts, Chewers?
