Hey there Los Angeles Fright fans! Time for another Friday Night Frights!
Like us on Facebook, if you dare! and Follow us on Twitter, if you double dare!
Looking for something to do in Los Angeles this evening? Problem solved! My cohort Sebastian O’Brien and I are extremely excited about our show tonight. We’ve assembled a mini-reunion for the criminally underloved/underseen Bad Dreams, the feature debut of Andrew Fleming (who went on to do The Craft, Dick and Hamlet 2), who cowrote the screenplay with 1980s stalwart Steven E. de Souza (Die Hard, The Running Man, Commando). Andrew Fleming will be with us tonight to talk about the film along with stars Jennifer Rubin (who you likely still have a crush on from Nightmare on Elm Street 3) and the one and only Dean Cameron (Summer School, Rockula). Together we will talk many things, including discussions about working with the late-greats Richard Lynch and Harris Yulin.
Friday May 10th @ midnight.
Quoth the FNF power blurb:
Ever wonder what would happen if Freddy Krueger ran a Jonestown-style death cult? Wonder no more for 1988′s Bad Dreams is here to show you the way! This shocker from Andrew Fleming (who would later go on to make The Craft) takes a cue from A Nightmare On Elm Street and warp-speeds it straight to crazy-cult town. Genre icon Richard Lynch is the demon ghost of a charismatic ‘70s cult mastermind who, after torching his flock in a mass suicide, torments Dream Warriors alum Jennifer Rubin from beyond the grave — and that’s just the tip of the insane iceberg. Hallucinatory madness and gooey FX congeal to make this entry in the cult-movies-about-cults pantheon a true overlooked and overcooked classic; come walk the true path with us for this special 25th Anniversary presentation.
