I’m still pissed at Spike Lee for his Django Unchained comments but I love him so deeply for 25th Hour I can only allow my love for Park Chan Wook’s Oldboy to teeter my excitement towards the positive for the upcoming Josh Brolin remake. If you haven’t seen the original DO IT NOW but if you have the synopsis for the remake ought to bring back memories:
OLDBOY is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.
Here’s the first teaser poster, unleashed to coincide with CineCon. What we need is some damn footage. This has the potential to be special. Or The Wicker Man.
