So apparently The Stan Winston School‘s been putting these mini-features out for a while, which means I have some required viewing ahead of me. Here we have Winston artist Andy Schoenberg letting us in on the process involved in bringing Jurassic Park’s Brachiosaur to life. It’s worth noting that Schoenberg mentions that Winston himself, not Spielberg, pushed for the “veggiesaurus” to be docile as can be, indicating the vastly collaborative process that filmmaking truly is, even on a Steven Spielberg set.
There’s a 3D rerelease that’s absolutely worth your time beginning on April 5th. Universal took care in post-converting this one and it showed when we screened it in these parts several weeks back. Enjoy some insight into a master operation delivering on some of their finest work:
