A lot of people have been wondering how they can support the writers on strike right now. Yes, you can picket with them – in fact, there’s a semi-formal event tomorrow (Friday November 16) which is built around that concept. It’s Unofficial Fan Support Day at Universal, and from 11-2 the fans of NBC-Universal shows are being asked to stop by and show their support. And just to make the event all that much more excellent, there’s also a canned food drive that day, gathering non-perishable items for LA Family Housing (www.LAFH.org).
The people behind Battlestar Galactica – which is the latest show to shut down production due to the strike – will be at the Main Gate at Universal. Here’s a rundown of the other gates:
Gate 1: Desperate Housewives
Gate 2: CSI, King of the Hill, Friday Night Lights
Gate 3: Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, The Office (optional event for them)
Gate 5: Ghost Whisperer, Bionic Woman, Carpoolers
There’s no guarantee that any actors will be showing up, but you never know. There’s also going to be a rally at 2, with John Edwards rumored to show up. Maybe he’ll summon the spirit of Henry Clay, the Great Compromiser, to work this shit out so Battlestar can finish the fourth season!
