So we’re done with our massive blowout retrospectives/reviews of The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, Eyes Wide Shut, A Clockwork Orange, and 2001: A Space Odyssey. Now it’s time to send a copy of the brand new, unopened Stanley Kubrick box set to a lucky Chewer out there who doesn’t just come to this site for the free shit. Looking through contest entries, it’s pretty obvious who reads the site for THE SITE and who follows a link from a place like this to try and win stuff.
This one’s for the more hardcore Chewers.
I don’t want you to answer pat Kubrick questions or go on some mad scramble through the site to prove to me that you actually surf around rather than hit us just for the passes and prizes.
I want you to write a paragraph or two telling me about some of your favorite moments in the site’s history. Strong reviews, good interviews, funny lines, bits of insanity, people who you come to the site to read the work of, things we tried that failed, message board stuff, whatever. In the same way that we ruminated on Kubrick films, ruminate on the site a little. What it means to you. If it means nothing, so be it. You still might win the set, provided your entry isn’t a total atrocity.
