Simon Pegg is going to play Scotty in the new Star Trek film.
You remember Scotty, the Chief Engineer of the Starship Enterprise in that little-seen show about the people in space who did stuff? Simon Pegg is stepping into his shoes for J.J. Abrams’ prequel into the world of Captain Kirk and his beloved co-workers.
Color me baffled. It’s as if the fibre of the cosmos has been ripped asunder.
Does that mean I have to be excited about this film that I had less interest in than my own hand grenade murder? Should I be mad at Simon for getting a role of a lifetime? Should I exhume Jimmy Doohan and punch his meats for a couple of hours?
I just don’t know. It just is. It could be the best thing ever or it could mean that we’re moments away from an extinction level event.
Either way, awesome.
