Although you’re more likely to see Hollywood’s remake before the original Asian source material ever reaches US shores, companies like Tartan are looking to change that.  And hey, they want to share a couple of thrillers with CHUD readers, so they’re as magnanimous as they are wise!

Doppelganger (which skirts the boundaries of comedy) from Japanese filmmaker Kiyoshi Kurosawa revolves around a meek scientist who one day encounters an aggressive lookalike who’s more than willing to say and do all the things he can’t, and the two halves must find a way to coexist. 

In the Korean horror film Phone, a reporter goes into hiding and changes her cell number after a controversial article, but unfortunately for her, the new number receives messages from a malicious demon spirit that manages to possess and/or scare the crap out of those who answer it.
