This monday post-Superbad, not much is happening. Jonah Hill and Michael Cera are waking up from their box-office orgy, hoping that their cold feet don’t have to touch each other and wondering if it’s going to be more awkward between them now that they have to stare across piles of money. I hear Judd Apatow went for the Grand Slam at Denny’s this morning, because now that he’ll be able to have a personal chef throw together a foie gras omlette any old time, it’s time to give the old standard a victory lap.
And if Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are really worth a damn, they’re hopping from office to office trying to get the release date of Pineapple Express pulled up from fucking August 2008.
This sort of climate is where non-news flourishes. And look, I’m doing you a favor. I didn’t waste an entire article header on the Chris Tucker fourth Friday Oh Don Piano story as reported by the folks over at MTV.
Instead I’m pointing out something great: that in a MySpace forum post Jon Favreau says that Paramount and Marvel Studios have agreed to release ‘some form’ of the Iron Man Comic Con footage to the internet.
Here’s his post in full, to save you that troublesome extra click: I hear you all loud and clear. You want to see the footage that we
brought to SDCC. Why not post it in HD instead of having everyone
download a grainy bootleg? I agree. I am trying to get a version out to
you ASAP. This is a big movie, however, and it takes time to get the
proper approvals from all parties involved.
I am happy to report that both Marvel and Paramount have agreed to get
a version of the footage out to you very soon. I will report the
specifics when I get them. Thanks for your enthusiasm and patience.
Pray for HD and pray for it soon.
