Disproving my theory that there can’t even be three million people who realize The CW still exists, the relatively strong ratings for the network’s superhero drama Arrow have resulted in a full-season pickup for the show after only two episodes. A hunked-up adaptation of the DC comic-book character, Arrow drew more than four million viewers to its series premiere and held onto 3.5 million of them for the follow-up episode.
CW execs are likely giddy over the possibility that they’ve found their new Smallville, which, strangely enough, featured a different actor playing a different version of bow-wielding vigilante Oliver Queen, otherwise known as the Green Arrow. Guess that makes Arrow a bit of a reboot, but apparently those viewers who find themselves all aquiver (see what I did there?) at the sight of star Stephen Amell decked out in green leather don’t seem to mind.
Arrow airs Wednesday nights on The CW.
