I’ve been a big fan of both the comic and tv incarnations of The Walking Dead. The show has a lot of detractors, primarily for how season 2 was handled (I do agree after recently revisiting it, that the second half is MUCH better than the first half.), and some going back to the initial season. It also is one of the few shows to have its future seasons greenlighted practically just as it airs. I believe Season 2 was confirmed just before the end of the 6 episode run of the first, and season 3 was confirmed after the second episode of season 2.
Now we’ve got an even faster confirmation, that we’re getting a 4th season, just a few short weeks before the premiere of season 3! I’m wondering just how many episodes that one will have. Most cable tv shows have between 12-13 episodes per season, and season 3 will have 16 episodes. I wonder if AMC will green light 22 episodes? Probably not, but who knows?
This season 4 confirmation also came by way of a “Blood donation” website that AMC has set up, which has a grand prize of a 3 day, 2 night trip to the set of season 4 being filmed.
