If you’ve been interested in GameTap’s retro/modern subscription service, but haven’t yet taken the plunge, now is your chance! Upgrades a-plenty have rolled out over the weekend, including a new deluxe frontend for subscribers, and the promised Lite player, which allows non-subscribers access to play full versions of certain games in the library, including Uru Live, and Tomb Raider Legend. I keep championing this thing, but it’s because I think it’s a great service. GameTap doesn’t pay me anything; in fact, they keep demanding that I send them money. What a weird business model.
I’m afraid there’s not much else interesting to report on. It’s the June/July drought, and people are forced to resort to posting rants such as this one or lists such as this one to fill the echoing void.
So, some releases for the week, then?
