Twitter is called Twitter because Asshole Finder wasn't catchy. It also does a good job of humanizing celebrities to the point where not only do we not put them on a pedastal, but we want to slam them in the face with a pedastal.
I could go for many, many more of these. Good show.

Dewar's isn't bad for the pricepoint, but I'll still take Macallan 12 or Johnny Walker Green given the opportunity.

What Jake quoted had me choking. Fantastic.

Yes to Allagash! For another U.S. brewery specializing in the wonders of Belgium, I can't recommend Ommegang highly enough. Seek! Drink!

Nice idea, Nick. Also it's good having separate comments for each part.

Nice article! I really like the idea and scope. Hope to see more of 'em. "The Finer Things" section has really made me want to grab some chilled Magners Pear Cider to enhance the remainder of the latest "Your Questions For...." I'm off to the fridge.

So... if we are writing our own notes on things, it goes in the appropriate thread, but if we are suggesting topics for you to write on, then it goes in an email?

Love the banner, by the way. Very classy.

I guess we'll see how it evolves but I think a lot of you guys will have fun anecdotes as well as ideas to feed the column.

Nick,
Great column. Great writing. If only there was the opportunity to have Down's Vamp in every one of your articles.

I think they intentionally make these discs scratch attractants. Children's titles ought to be pressed onto titanium, peanut butter-resistant discs since the people handling them most have tiny fingers and little demonic minds.
I practically begged my brother to keep his all the kids movies he had on VHS, but nope, he gave em away, or worse, threw them out. VHS was perfect for kids' movies. They're pretty much idiot proof and can be thrown around. DVDs are not made for kids.

That's the thing I've hated most about discs from the get-go. It's our disposable culture I guess. CDs and DVDs could have been made to last, it's a shame. It's always fun renting a disc that's only been out for a week(and one or two people rented it at most) and it looks like someone used it as a little shield in a cat fight.

VHS tapes aren't kid or idiot proof. They always had those flaps and the tape underneath. All it took was one dumb kid and the ability to yank.

Haha okay I went a bit too far. And yeah, they can be eaten occasionally. But compared to DVDs? No contest.

Forgot to say, I like the new column Nick.

Your negative feelings towards Twitter are interesting, because this felt like a series of tweets.

good stuff nick

For your consideration for a future episode: Penderyn, a Welsh whiskey I'm particularly fond of which is made not too far from my parents house and can be found here:

Would be nice to find out what you think of it.
