Default FEARnet and Time Warner Cable

So there's no more FEARnet on my On Demand. Same goes for a couple of other TW customers I know. Did it get dropped permanently or what? If so: BASTARDS!

Chiller just ain't gonna cut it for my TV horror needs. Dr Strangefist, you still work there?

Unfortunately FEARnet and I parted ways when they relocated to the LA area at the beginning of the year, so I'm afraid I can't really help or offer an explanation.

I'm surprised to hear this though, especially if it's actually been dropped; getting on TW was this big deal/major goal when I started and was considered quite a coup when it finally happened - largely because Time Warner is in NY and LA... i.e. not just tons of new potential viewers there, but they're massive ad markets that they couldn't really tap into much until they were actually being broadcast in those areas. As far as I know things were more or less going smoothly around the time I finished, so if it's dropped things must have somehow gotten really messed up between now and then, and it would be a pretty big blow to the network.

However on the other hand there's a decent chance it's just technical issues of some sort.

I feel bad for anyone saddled with TW.

Fuck them and fuck Roadrunner.

Fearnet on Demand has been a pleasant little surprise.

As a Comcast customer still blessed with it, I have to concur. Although the pickin's have been a lil' slim in March, as far as good stuf I might not have seen. Scoring the Midnight Meat Train was a helluva coup, though. And it allowed me to see a few classics I've never seen before (eg., Repulsion, Rosemary's Baby, Peeping Tom & Last House on the Left). I grieve for the TW customers among us.

Ah, thanks anyway.

Went to the FEARnet site, and got confirmation about what's going on. It's not a technical thing. Here's a thread on it (includes a number to call about it):

Man, they had HD content and everything. Definitely going to miss FEARnet.

My sympathies to everyone that lost FEARnet. I went through something similar when Monsters HD ceased - just when I was getting ready to get an HD TV, specifically to watch all the Voom networks that popped up on Cablevision, the whole package disappeared (I watched Monsters HD the last couple of times I hung out with my brother-in-law at his house - Hammer films, uncut and uninterrupted! Vintage Karloff films! Such bliss!).

Oh, and I agree with Disciple, Chiller's not warming the cockles of my heart either.

Out of the films you listed only Last House on the Left was played in the last month or so, and that sucks because I've been meaning to revisit Peeping Tom for a while now. We did have Johnny Mnemonic though....

Damn, that sucks for all you horror fans with Time Waner or Bright Cove cable. Might not bode well for the state of the company either. About a month or two after they left I heard rumors from a friend who still works for Comcast that FEARnet might be in trouble. The rumor was pretty vague and the company had been doing pretty well, so I took it with a grain of salt. But this makes the idea of them going under a more realistic poosibility. Hopefully it's not the case anytime soon though. FEARnet isn't perfect but they're still pretty good and virtually the only game in town when it comes to horror on tv. Plus the network is still young and will hopefully get better, and maybe expand into a full linear channel rather than just on demand. It would be a shame to see them go away.

I meant since I've had it I've watched those films. Not all in the last month. Sorry I wasn't clearer.

I have Comcast at home, and I was trying to watch a fearnet movie, but it wouldn't work. I assume they would have just removed the listings. I don't know the inner workings of who owns what cable company, so I'm not sure this is related to what's going on.

No, that's something different. I've had that problem with on demand before, it's probably a technical thing.
