Stellar idea. I have a couple of potential guesses as to what's going to show up here.
Can't wait to see the rest!

Awesome already. Sounds like another winner.
Can't wait how high (if it's included) The Ruins ranks.

![]() Approves. I remember watching 'the Guardian' on cable back in the 90s. It's almost so bad that it's good.

I've got nothing but pre-emptive love for this list. A slice of this goodness will help bring me outta the life funk I've been in lately. The pressure's on, CHUD! An "official" release of BIOLLANTE's sorely missing from my DVD collection (as well as 1985). And for that matter, where the hell's a dvd for THE GUARDIAN? This is one of the biggest curses of the CHUD list... availability.
Can't wait for the write-up on Howard Keel's and Seymour Krelborn's epic battles (I'm optimistic). One thing left to say: TOBONGA! EDIT: Love the Nick descriptions BTW for these monster lists. Good stuff always.

Sweet!
It's pretty evident that Audrey II is a top 3 contender.

I wanted to do something innocuous and not as "Look at Me!" as some lists both here and elsewhere...
And ours are better.

Like clockwork comes the preemptive guessing.
I LOVE Biollante. I remember the exact position it maintained on the shelf at Blockbuster when I was a child. When I saw Return of Godzilla, since I was only 4, I cried when he fell into the Volcano. It took me a long time to discover Biollante, where he escapes said volcano. This concept of continuity blew my young mind.

I dunno. Biollante was obvious to me. Course, I'm a kaiju whore.
Plant-related, THE RUINS messed me up last weekend during my virginal viewing. HO LEE SHIT.

The only thing I remember about The Guardian is the bad chick's green nakedness. And that's the last 10 minutes at most. Otherwise, it's The Hand That Rocks The Cradle . . . with Druids.

Don't mention other plants, Doc. We're supposed to comment on the list as it progresses, not provide speculation on further entries. That kinda defeats the point and ruins the fun/surprise of the list.

I'll have to call shame on me as well. But in my defense I couldn't help myself. Still, I edited my other post.
That said, if there's one thing that's true about CHUD lists, it's that they can always surprise you with their entries. (In the best way possible.)

By the way, the happy ending from the Ruins is the Theatrical cut, right? Where she runs away safely?

Is The Happening a contender? Not the attacking plants at whole, the one in the house. Yeah, it's fake. But it's totally awesome and shouldn't be forgotten!
For all we know, it out-acted Marky Mark.

Good work, Steve. As noted, "Tree-Mobile" was great. See also "hating from within." However, there is an unacceptable level of anti-Jena Malone sentiment. She's talented and adorable. No need, Mr. Murphy.

Biollante was my favorite Godzilla adversary as a kid. Gigan replaced her in high school.

Like I said earlier, I was pretty shocked by RUINS. I'll have to dig up an old thread to see what others thought, but I went in cold (I did see the trailer) and had to peek through fingers a couple times (SPOILER: the impromptu surgeries especially) and didn't expect a twist or 2 (SPOILER: mimicry abilities). I recommend personally.

If we're going to continue to name contenders for the list in our posts, then I'll submit that I hope Leon's 'action movie surviving' houseplant makes the list.

I remember Biollante being a sad, almost lyrical film. Well, as sad and lyrical as a kaiju film can get.
