And my DIRTY DANCING OFFICIAL DANCE WORKOUT review didn't make the list either...

God damn it. I know Robocop and Total Recall aren't worth the scratch, but what's the word on Carrie? Is it worth $10 on Blu-ray, or did they do something horrible to the transfer?

the transfer is ok. But, the special features are rather lax. By that, I mean you only get a trailer.

So, it's a movie-only disc. However, the Target 2-packs are worth it.

I'm thinking of retooling a few things. Look at this, while I tinker.

Up blu ray is 19.99 on bestbuy.com, might be worth mentioning, but the real cheap deals for Heat and Up blu rays are at Wal Mart.

I thought about adding internet deals as a new area due to their rising importance. Also, I'm looking to judge the interest in a Black Friday Special Edition.

Well in this case, bestbuy.com and walmart.com you can price match them in store, so its just the extra 5 seconds of "hey you're website has it for this" and 99% they do match it.

Online is a great idea, because it shows the huge price differences and how most of the time the consumer is getting ripped off, but it tends to change quite a bit. I'm sure though chud.com must have some affiliate account with amazon, so maybe there is some html coding or something that can display the current deals automatically or something.

I'm interested in something like that.

How's about this for a new breakdown (tentative online blocs)

Amazon
Best Buy.com
Wal-Mart.com

I figure that I can safely include Wal-Mart into the mix, since their online deals are a little less YMMV.

Go for it. Just put dates if you can since online can change pretty fast since amazon and walmart are competing right now. Best Buy really seems not to be fully keeping up, so I dunno if you'd want to waste your time with it. It'll be interesting to see how the price wars continue after the holidays.

Amazon for sure though. Nick probably wouldn't mind the revenue. I know they have coding you can insert so the price changes as they change.

Still maybe if you see another deal randomly, wouldn't be too bad to post it. The Semi-Official Blu Ray thread gets some. Like how Barnes and Noble is doing their 50% off sale. Usually they suck, but right now, less so.

I need a little more interest in this, before I invest the effort.

I don't know of anything there at the moment, but I have gotten good deals there in the past. Right now the only key sales I know about are Barnes and Noble 50% off their Criterion stuff (use bing and get another 10%), and Amazon and Wal-mart are competing for your blu-ray dollars.

Up on blu-ray (which includes the DVD) is 19.96 at Walmart. Best Buy has it for 19.99 (so go to which ones closer and save gas).

Terminator Salvation and Harry Potter are 15.86 at wal mart for the blu rays.

Heat (blu again) is under 16.50 at both Amazon and Wally Mart (but don't know how many will be in store)

Pick up the LG BD370 blu ray player from Amazon, 3 movies free, but I think there is a list.

Thanks for researching that BR player. I've managed to stay away from Walmart for 3 years now, and I wasn't going to be proud of myself for waiting in line to get that fucker.

Well done. I would of been a little more clear on that any profile player will play the movie, its just some special features won't work. The deal is great for people who don't care for that stuff (and you'll still be able to access most of the special features anyways).

Actually. No.

With some new BD-Live components, the menus will crash on Profile 1.0 and 1.1 players. Such has been the case with the latest T2 Blu-Ray from Lionsgate.

That was just bad coding, but when I loaded up some of my 2.0 discs on my PS3 prior to it getting to me updating to profile 2.0 it wouldn't allow me to access those areas. Of course the PS3 is probably a bad example. I'm sure someone will pounce on this deal and will let us know.

Still this article: http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-9808376-1.html says you shouldn't have a problem with it.

The T2 disc I'll look into, if it was the BD-Live problems I heard there were server problems that got fixed. Menu issues, probably Liongate's bad quality control. I mean look at SAW umm any number after I.

Look at The Spirit, Wanted and any number of titles that use BD-live compatibility in the basic menu design. Fuck, Wolverine's menu kills a ton of LG units.
