Alas we they did not, so i'm not giving up on see him make a comeback in the future.

I'm sad for Mitch Pileggi, AKA Darby. The 2 fingered masturbator can go fuck himself.

Oh shit, my mistake. I thought you meant the two fingered dude. Wasn't Darby a character that was a bit of waste? Wouldn't you say he was mostly background fodder, not much of a central character?

MAybe he didn't. He probably just wanted to hurt the Sons and get rid of DArby in the process.

Just a reminder, 90 minute episode tonight. Adjust your DVR if necessary.

Darby had become a liability, and Darby was too stupid to realize that he'd outlived his usefulness to Zobel. I think the move wasn't because he knows about internal strife regarding the porn company, I think he's just smart enough to realize Jacks was correct in that being the only money the Sons have coming in consistently. He had an opportunity to cut their purse strings and make it looks like Darby was acting out of vengeance on his own, and he took it. I'm assuming we'll find out about Darby's burned body being identified after Jacks has gone rogue and taken off.

Nothing brings a family together like a rape revelation.

Only episode of the season that hasn't been a complete out of the park home run. It just kept going and going, but not going much of anywhere. I really don't know why this one was stretched to 90 minutes except to fit in extended commercials for two shitty movies and a shitty tv show.

Yeah, I don't get the special 90 minute treatment for this episode. I can't get into the whole Chibs IRA storyline and the Jacks going Nomad thing seems REALLY stretched out for something that looks like it gets completely reversed in the next episode. Gemma's rape revelation was kinda heartbreaking though.

Oh well, still love the show.

Hell, they didn't even wait until next week. Jacks picked up his badges on the way out the door.

I liked it. A lot, actually. It seemed to me like there was a shitload going on and most of it was pretty heavy stuff. I'm assuming now that when Gemma spoke with Unser she wasn't saying Jacks would be needing her protection because he was going Nomad? At that point Gemma had to have already decided her course of action in telling Clay and Jacks what happened so now I'm trying to figure out who Unser needs to protect to help the club. Clay? Jacks? Zoller?

Unser will have to protect the whole club by backing them for all the murdering to come. I think that was Gemma's way of letting Unser know she was telling them about the rape. I'm curious what the fallout will be with the doc and jacks. Gemma basically told them she knew about the rape. I loved that clay and jacks didn't erupt in anger like you would expect. Jacks slammed his hand but immediately went to Gemma and you could tell clay was realising how he'd treated her after the rape. Next week looks promising.

It did feel like the segments were a bit shorter, up until Gemma spoke to Unser I had no idea why this one was being stretched to 90. But her telling Jax and Clay made it all worthwhile.

A little worried about Chibs. He's not ratting on the club but ratting is still ratting. Though it's hard to blame him after the rather sadistic way Welliver was talking about his daughter.

Damn that last scene was heavy. And everyone sold it great. There wasn't that much need for a longer episode but I'm definitely not going to complain about having more Sons to watch.

It makes me wonder even more why Gemma is scared of "That Irish bitch". It seems to me like Chibs wife doesn't have a whole lot of control of the situation and if she was truly scary wouldn't Chibs just tell her about the threat?

Whatever may be scary about Chibs' wife we haven't been exposed to. So far she's been angelic, but that was just a ruse to get Chibs to meet with Jimmy. They need Chibs to iron out the rift between the Irish and the Sons.

Opie's Dad is the wild card. He's back to staring at that old service issue automatic like he did after Donna's murder.

Also, Tig had some good moments this episode. His appology to the Indian doll started off funny till I started to think about what could be going through his mind.......Donna. Real humanity in an otherwise hard assed killer.

The first scene with Tig tripping around all the dolls was damn funny, but yeah that second one was clearly him not able to get past killing Donna.

And this is why Sons is so awesome. Any other show would have had him remain his usual retarded animal sexing self. Sons has depth where you wouldn't expect it elsewhere. And the fact that it was a slow burn over several eps was really nice too.

I've seen a lot of praise for this episode among critics, but I gotta say, I thought it was one of their lesser efforts of the season. The nomad thing was obviously never going to happen, so it was mostly just a somewhat interesting insight on MC politics. And I was a little underwhelmed by the big revelation scene. Partly I think that's because I've come to take Sagal and Perlman's unceasing excellence as a matter of course, but I think it would've played much, much better without musical accompaniment, and the intercutting with the other club members didn't seem really tied into it the way previous montages have done.

Still, more Sons is always welcome. Other random notes:

Stahl is really going to run the EXACT SAME game that got Donna killed on the Irish? Jesus.

Lurves me some Welliver, although he seems to be on an "Evil Incarnate" kick as of late. Hell of an ambitious brogue he was putting on.

Yeah, the revelation scene fell completely flat for me. The cutting to the other members (oh look at the initiate tripping balls!) just killed it for me, and the music didn't work at all. It really hurt some great performances at that dining table.

Next week is going to have a body count on par with the last scene of Hamlet.

Great final scene, but I'm sure that's the beginning of the end of Jax and the doc's relationship. No way he forgives her for not telling him about Gemma.

I didn't recognize Welliver at all. He's going to have to die horribly. Something horrible is going to go down based on the previews next week with Stahl freaking out.

I'm guessing it will be something having to do with Donna's death, from the other scenes in the promo. If it's Opie beating up Tig, Gemma's rape won't be the only secret being revealed.

I don't much care if there was no real reason for a 90 minute special episode, I'll take it if they are giving it.

At this point I can see Tig admitting it to his face to seek some sort of redemption for it.

Clairvoyance happens.

I know Piney is old, but he's gotta be a better shot than that.

I like how this episode played out. It showed that pretty much all they had to do was be open and honest with each other from the start and none of shit would have happened.

This episode is probably the closest to a "feel good" story that we're going to get from Sons. And I love that.

I love how much this episode depended on Opie and Tig, and the actors sold every second.

Tig revealed so much humanity, and Opie stepped up to take charge. More than anyone in the MC, after this episode I think Opie would make a good President after Clay's athritis finally cripples him. Not sure Jacks has it in him anymore.

Absolutely, after nearly two seasons of nothing but loss, the MC finally starts to put the pieces back together. And damn did I love the schene between Opie and Stahl. "The outlaw showed you mercy."

Pretty much, since the body count will probably start next week. Piney and Unser both had "If I don't come back . . ." speeches last night.

I completely forgot about that when I was talking about it with a friend this morning. Opie might be my favorite MC member.

PRobably the best episode of the season. So much great acting and writing.

If gemma wanted to hate fuck me, i'd be scared too.

Don't get me wrong, I really liked it, but Jacks and Opie accidentally piecing together both the Chibs thing and unravelling Zoller like that within a few minutes of tailing people was kind of infuriating. Zoller has been 3 steps ahead of them all this time, but didn't ever take precautions regarding his meetings with the Mayans? Really? So all SAMCRO needed to do was stop being retarded for 15 minutes at any point this season and they could have avoided all this?

I know, I'm picking at nits but it bothered me.

I see what you're saying, but I think it goes to explaining away the criticism of how exactly Samcrow has lasted this long if they could be so easily manipulated. A united Samcrow would have sent Zoebell packing weeks back. That's not to say it wasn't all a bit convenient.

I think they've gone a long way in building the character of Jacks, figuring out what they want to with him exactly, where he fits in, but I'd have to agree that Ope is probably the most interesting character they have. So much so it seems almost like the story was originally built around him.

Fuck. Yes. I'm hoping for a beatdown by Gemma that will satisfy both my bloodlust and titlust, and not necessarily in that order.

It was nice, even if a little too neat, to see things falling into place for the Sons for once. Now that Bobby's psychic shift took place, I guess it's time for the beatdown to commence. Shame about the new, remorseful Tig though. The old pervert we know and love would have been a great source of poetic justice. I hope he'll come out and play once opportunity presents itself.

I was just thinking of how utterly perverse it would be if this show could turn a biker raping and/or necrophiling a pretty young blond into a heartwarming defense of matriarchal honor.
