I liked the episode but i'm just sick and tired of the 'story of the week' routine. do something not related to the newest news story

Wait, was that Smurf section an Avatar riff?!

I enjoyed bits and pieces of the episode. The opening murder sequence was great, and while Butters' shock was hilarious, the real gold there was Clyde's complete and utter indifference as he simply continued his schoolwork. The clip from Dances With Smurfs was great too, though it might have helped that I was having a discussion with a friend about Avatar not fifteen minutes before the episode aired where that exact title came up.
Overall, though, it was a weak effort. I've been trying for some time now to pinpoint what it is that has made my affection for the show's new output wane, and while it was hard for me to put it into words (it's more of a general feeling than anything specific), I think I have it: South Park has always been influenced by popular culture, but how Parker and Stone have gone about implementing what's in the news or currently popular has changed dramatically. In its best days, South Park could take these issues/themes and use them in a way that served the story organically, moving the episode along. For an example, take "Timmy 2000." There they took an episode that's overall theme was acceptance and managed to pepper it with jabs at the overdiagnosis of ADD and the readiness of parents/doctors to put kids on drugs. These past seasons however, have seen the show simply making the "story of the week" the plot in itself and attempting to fashion some sort of storyline around it. I think the best way to put it was that South Park used to be about taking our culture and twisting it into this bizarre cartoon universe, often poking fun through exaggeration and their own interpretation. Now, they simply throw the actual issue in as is and let its own outlandishness stand. And for me, it's simply less fun. Of course, it's best I end my rant by saying that I find the greatest episodes of South Park will always be the random episodes that have nothing to do with anything. Give me Chili-Con-Carnivals and panhandling Loch-Ness Monsters anyday.

Horrible episode to end a terrible season. A 2012 parody, really? That's what you spend your final episode on?

They really got to stop writing the episodes days before they are due to air.

Huh. I thought that was the funniest episode they've done in at least the last two seasons. Whenever they poke fun at movie scientists trying to warn people of impending disaster, that always makes me smile but this time the bit with the monkeys absolutely slayed me.

I liked this more than the last couple episodes that's for sure. A good urine joke beats misguided social commentary gags any day of the week.

I was surprised how good this was. More laughs than the entire season that preceded it.

I thought the high point was Cartman's song early in the ep, as I'm a sucker for overly sincere songs about ridiculous subjects. Overall, though, this season was pretty terrible.

a very "meh" episode. There were a few good parts. Like Butters dissapointed "oh, you survived" to Cartman.
Whale Wars was the high point of another dissapointing season.

I think they should just cut the pretense of "plot" and spend 22 minutes on bodily fluids and bodily waste "jokes" each week.

If people are hating on an episode that involved Randy Marsh taking one for the team and getting peed on than you're out of your fucking minds.

Randy even snuck in an "ohmaigawd". The whole season was good, I must just be an easy mark.

When he screamed at Sharon to calm down I lost it. Also, when Cartman complained about how minorities wearing t-shirts in the water.

It seems we all want something different from SOUTH PARK, so each individual episode has its haters and its champions. Guess it's a testament to how long the show's been on and how many different styles of comedy they've employed.
But, come on, people. That last episode suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked. |

I will admit to laughing each time Kyle thought of a new location that nobody would possibly pee in. (Cue: Shifty eyes from the other kids.)
But "Pi Pi's Splashtown"? With a Mario-sounding, Italian-stereotype proprietor? Really? That is something FAMILY GUY would do. |

I'll admit to laugh very hard at the monkeys being peed on, and Randy, of course.
The rest? Was terrible.

Not 25 minutes of it. Sometimes I respect South Park for sticking to a joke that even they don't think is funny. I didn't think Pi Pi's Splashtown was funny, but Goddammit, the scientists thinking the Monkeys were getting "rage from the urine" instead of realizing the just didn't like being pissed on? Then shooting them? Awesome.

I enjoyed this episode a lot. The song was gold. I also got the feeling that they were DELIBERATELY trying to make the Italian guy as annoying and unfunny as possible.
