I think it's the creature designs that are making me interested. The trailer itself is pretty standard. But you usually see guys fighting bland CGI thingies (Ex.- Mummy sequels). The monsters here look more like something from a Del Toro production.

Agree with Bob. I wasn't all that interested in this remake (still love the original) but the creature designs look fantastic. So as a teaser trailer, this got the job done. I want to see more.

As a huge Greek mythology fan I wasn't sure what to make of a remake of a such a cherished movie from my childhood but the scraps of information I've been reading on this project have been making me more excited for a renaissance of Myth pics.
This trailer has a visceral adrenaline rush vibe and has me looking forward to a future trailer with the elements Devin talked about in the article. Also impressed that they didn't go overboard trying to ape 300 style which a worry I had; love the wideshots which evoke a very mythological world and well designed practical look of some of the enemies even if some of the CGI looks a little shaky at the moment.

If so, then it was real fleeting as I can't recall seeing him. The Stygian Witches were visible for a few seconds though and you could definitely feel a Del Toro influence on their design.

Boom. Winner.

The original Clash was basically all about the special effects. The best you could say about it's faithfulness to the source material was that it was slightly more accurate than Marvel's Hercules comics.
I hope they replace the mechanical owl with a sassy iPod.

You guys and your taglines... Thanks for brightening my day up a bit! Especially you Phil! But "Let's Get Kraken" is awesome.

I didn't really care much about this one until seeing this teaser. I must have been fooling myself and forgetting what a remake of Clash of the Titan would undoubtedly entail.

Rock! A serious ass-kicking handed to PoP's trailer. Can't wait to see more of the sizzle reel footage.

I'm so there.

CLASH OF THE TITANS looks fun. It's not quite the visual feast I'd like it to be (though, don't get me wrong, it doesn't look too shabby, and maybe later trailers will reveal some more eye-popping stuff), but I love me Greek mythology, even if it is modeled more after 300 and GOD OF WAR than Ray Harryhausen. I hope the film itself doesn't have a rock-flavored score, though.

Maybe I'm imagining it, but I got a stop-motiony vibe off of the movements of some of the creatures (The Medusa, in particular). It would be nice if they went in that direction, but I doubt they will.

That was pretty much my thought as well. Letterier isn't a vsionary based on his existing work, but he's proven to be at a level of competence that's sadly lacking from most fantasy/action directors. Combine that with neat, apparently heavily practical creature designs, clean cinematography (enough with the fucking filters, please, thanks) and Liam Neeson as Zeus, and you've got a potential winner. I just hope the heavy 300 vibe is from the marketing types, not the movie itself.

The tagline sucks but the trailer makes me want to go and see the film, which i guess means it did it's job.

Blame Iron Maiden, blame the recent wave of "Viking" or operatic rock like Enisferum, Nightwish, Lacuna Coil or what have you, but that shit was hugely influenced by these kinds of movies/epics so yeah I'm not even a little bit surprised it's being used in these trailers. IF I had to guess, I'd say it was a Nightwish song used in the trailer...look up a song called "Over the Hills" and you'll see why I think that.

At any rate...I thought the trailer was fucking awesome and the scorpion playing RockBand made me giggle uncontrollably!!!

I'm sold, I'm in...my ticket is bought.

This. The brief shots of what I assume to be the blind witches, holding the eyeballs in their hands gave me a real Pans Labrynth/ HB2 vibe.

The story synopsis floating around the web is:
Quote:
In the film, the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Neeson) and unleash hell on Earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.
That pretty much doesn't at all describe the original movie. So, is the blurb BS or are they making a Greek inspired movie and stealing the title?

Looks intriguing enough, but that music SUCKS!!!. Even using one of those Zimmer clones for the umpteenth time would've been preferable. The trailer has helped further my desire to see the film, though.

Since it seems more God Of War than anything else, I'm guessing it'll attract the exact demographic it was obviously made for. The only question remaining is just how much will this Greecian earn.

Trailer should've been scored by The Clash.

Couldn't actually find the spot - but here are people at AICN flipping out over the fact that a Kid Rock song was used to market Ridley Scott's historical epic.

And ETC - The bands you mentioned might have been a better fit, at least.

From the looks of those posters that leaked last week, Fiennes is playing TWO gods, Hades and... the other one is escaping me. I'm sure someone can fill in that blank.

Could be wrong about that, of course. But I swear I saw Fiennes in white and black.

EDIT: Eh, looking at them more closely, it looks like the one in white is probably Neeson. Goddamn, it really looks like Fiennes in the face though. Blurry leaked version and all.
